The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is a UK Government department responsible for welfare and pension policy.
The Direct Payments scheme is a UK Government initiative in the field of Social Services that gives users money directly to pay for their own care, rather than the traditional route of a Local Government Authority providing care for them.
The Cabinet Office Strategy Unit calls direct payments “the most successful public policy in the area of social care”.
How we helped
We were tasked to produce an infomercial-style video complete with interviews from those already using the Direct Payments scheme. The video would be packaged with additional materials for those who had expressed an interest in finding out information and accessing Direct Payments.
Having a visual and verbal aid the potential clients of the scheme were better able to view themselves as a user of the scheme along with demystifying what would from the outset seem like a complicated process.
Although no figures were released by the DWP they were very pleased with the results and have vowed to work with us again.
